Halloween was fun this year. It was Wesley's first real Halloween. He really liked walking around to trick or treat and loved getting candy from people but didn't grasp what we were doing. He didn't eat any candy though. I doubt he would have liked it even if we gave it to him. We never give him sugar. He just thought it was fun. He got a glow stick from one lady and thought it was amazing.

Back to Bloggin' and 16 Months

I have been very bad at blogging. In part because I have been really busy. Mostly because our old laptop that we keep all our pictures on would no longer connect to the Internet. We just bought ourselves a new fancy laptop for Christmas so now (hopefully) we will be updating more often.

Wesley is now almost 16 months old. Can you believe it? I can't. He is such a big boy now and we love love love him to pieces. He is a happy and friendly boy. He is small for his age, in the 2nd percentile for weight but he makes up for it in personality. His favorite things to do now are dancing and reading and he does both all the time. He is also obsessed with water. He can make lots of animal noises and point just about any animal out to you. He says shoes, dad, mom, dog, all done, uh oh, lion, whoa, no no no, drink, one two three, up, treat (dog treat), and grandpa. He has said other words but not consistently. He will tell you where his belly, head, hair, feet, hands, eyes, mouth, nose, and teeth are. He doesn't get ears yet but we are working on it. He is a major climber and thinks it's really great to climb where ever you don't want him to go. He is learning more every day and we love him more everyday.

So I have to go back to work next week. We were hoping that I wouldn't need to return to work at all. Then we hoped that I would be able to wait until after the new year. I guess that is not going to happen. I have to be at work on Monday or else we will have no health insurance. After I got off the phone this morming with my boss, I just cuddled Wesley and cried silently for a while (I'm cryng right now btw). Later Brian came in and asked me if I was crying. Of course, I said "No" and immediately started crying more. Needless to say he didn't believe me.

I just get emotional at the thought of having to leave Wes and be away. I know he will be in good hands with his grandma Susan but it's still hard. My job really is a blessing. It pays great, I can work part time, I have benifits, and they are really flexible with my schedule. It's just hard to see the many blessings when I have to be away from Wesley and when I thought this would all be worked out by now. I know Heavenly Father has a game plan for us but it's hard cuz he just hasn't shown it to us yet. I love being a mom and love Wes so much!

3 Months and Counting

Our little guy is growing up so fast. Wes is still the happiest baby in town. He talks to mom and dad all the time and is always smiling and laughing. He loves kicking his legs and grabbing his feet. He thinks it's pretty neat. He had his first cold. So sad... but he handled it well and was still very happy most of the time. He farts a TON. And they are not little baby farts, they are loud, man farts. They even wake us up in the middle of the night. When he had his cold he would always cough and fart at the same time and sometimes sneeze and fart together. We all though it was pretty funny. He likes to make spit bubbles and blow them out and loves it when we do it back to him. We love our sweet boy!

Two month check up

Normally, Wes doesn't cry that much and when he does he is relatively easy to sooth and his cry is deep and low. He just had his two month check up. He had to get 3 shots. He was not a happy camper after that. I have never heard him cry like like he did when he got his shots. He was so frantic and it was high pitched. So sad. The rest of the day he was fussy and a little crabby. No where near his usual happy self. We had to work extra hard for smiles but we could still get a few.

Wes loves his baths but his favorite part is when he gets dried off.

I don't have any other babies to really compare him to but I think this kid is the happiest baby around. He loves to smile and laugh. From week one he would smile and coo every time we would smile or play with him. I love my happy boy!

Another day, another clogger (x's two)

About two weeks ago I got a clogged milk duct. Not fun. It hurt so bad and I couldn't sleep all night. I went to the doc and she said it wasn't infected yet, just a clog. She told me how to take care of it and after a lot of nursing, pumping, heating, massaging and praying it unclogged. Two days later my little hero, Wes sucked that baby right out while we were both eating breakfast.
Thankful that was behind us, life went back to normal.

Then, last night I was a bit sore and thought that I might be getting another one so I nursed Wes on that side twice in a row to try and prevent it. Sure enough during the night I woke up with not one clog but two! One in the right plus another one in the left. Sucks! Thankfully I knew what I was doing this time and started nursing, pumping, heating, massaging and praying right away. With Wesley's help we got one unclogged during the middle of the night and the other one unclogged right before church this morning. Wes is so good at what he does. He's mommy's little hero. No clog stands a chance against him!

Sweet Wes came into our lives 10 days late on Aug 7th. He was 7 lbs & 14 ozs and 20 inches long. He had a mean ol' cone head. Everyday has been a wonderful new adventure with him. He is a very good baby. He loves his Mommy and Papa and anyone else that wants to love him. He loves to eat, cuddle, smile, laugh, and play. He likes getting his diaper changed because he gets a butt rub and gets to look out the window. He also likes getting his baths and going outside. He is really strong. He started to roll all the way over his first week and he can hold his head up like a pro.

Maui

A few months ago we went to Hawaii for one last trip as just a married couple. It was also was our anniversary trip since the baby is due on our anniversary.

It was the playoff so Brian tried to catch as many games as possible.

We took a boat out to some cool diving spots. We saw tons of coral, fish and turtles.

Unfortunately I got really sick and ended up throwing up a lot. It was actually pretty funny because right when we got to the crater I threw up all over the side of the boat and tons of fish swam up and gobbled it all up in about 5 seconds. They didn't might at all.

Even though I got sick it was still really fun.

We only made it out to one Laker game this year. We got to go with Mom, Rachel, Jarom, and baby Emmett.

Brian felt like his team might need some added luck for the playoffs and finals so he grew out a great mustache. Guess it worked.

Vegas

If you know me, then you know I LOVE free stuff. Vegas always gives me free stuff, therefore I love Vegas. And Vegas seems to like me. I'm not sure why. But we always get free stuff. So yea!

We got a free room at the Wynn (fancy) for 3 nights.

They also gave us $200 free play. So we used our free play and cashed out as soon as it was gone and we ended getting like $250. So we saw a cirque de soleil show and went to a couple of buffets and had lots-o-fun.

The pool area was really, really nice but kinda boring because there were no kids, only old rich farts. There was a topless area so we did see some old lady boobs and that was pretty funny. Pool Lovers

We went to one of the Ducks playoff games. Ducks won to advance to the next round. It was crazy fun!

We went camping with Dryw and Steph. It was the first time since we have been married. We only went for one night but it was still really fun.

As usual, the girls beat the boys in the competition. Better luck next time...Yeah right

We also had a couple of bonfire; s'mores, hot dogs and all. We are so lucky to live so close to the beach.

We went to a ducks game with Brandon and Alisha. It was her first game so that was pretty exciting. Ducks lost but we still had fun.

Montana

For New Years we went up to the family Cabin in Montana for a week. It was an amazing time. It was my first time in the winter and I loved every minute of it!

Here is a picture of the cabin/house when we arrived. It's pretty amazing. Brian's family built it themselves which makes it even more amazing.

We went snowmobiling through Yellowstone National Park. It was so beautiful! We spent all day just riding all over the park. There was tons of animals. Here is a herd of buffalo we came across. They were so close that we could have touched them!

We came across some rams licking the salt off the highway. We seriously almost hit them! It was pretty cool though.

Of course we had to go snowboarding. Brian went all over the mountain, including the very top, scary areas. I stayed a little closer to the bottom. We both had a great time!

We went to Disneyland for some fun. We needed to put our passes to some use.

Disney wedding day! Check out the stach. Pretty much everyone hated it so I loved it! It's gone now but it was a funny couple of months.

Thanksgiving Day! In case you didn't know, we're big on the "in car, self portraits". Now Brian has a goatee. It probably won't last long.

He sold this one for some extra cash. He loves punk music so he created a kind of medley out of the logos of some bands. This isn't a picture of it completed but it still looks cool. Good thing he sold it because it would not have gone up in our house. I'm working on him to paint something a little more pretty/girlie for me.

Anniversary

We made it one whole year.
We started our anniversary by going to the Circus. Neither of us had ever been. It was really fun. Mom came too.

The next day we went down to La Jolla for a little get away. It was beautiful and relaxing. I love being with my sweetie.

The hotel was so nice. (Thanks Dave!) We had a suite with two huge rooms and three balconies; one was about the same size of the room. Seriously, the biggest balcony that I have ever seen. Look how cute we are.

At the end of this month we will be married one year! It's seems so crazy. It has flown by but at the same time it feels like we have been together forever.

My bangs are finally almost grown out. Please don't allow me to cut them again! Except for the fact that I know I will. I already want something new. I miss my personal hair stylist (Katie).

It is summer and even though I am taking 3 summer school classes I still have 2 days off during the week. Two classes are online. I don't know why I never took online classes before. They are super easy so far. I have been quite lazy about my free time. I rekindled my love affair with reading about two weeks ago and am done with my first book of the summer and half way through my second book. I'm also attempting to get a tan the old fashioned way- laying out (This may take a while).

Sorry there's no new pictures. I'll put some on later. Happy 4th of July!

Vegas Baby!

We went to Vegas for my Birthday. It was super fun and relaxing.

We signed up for some card at the Wynn and they gave us each free lunch at the Wynn buffet and $10 gambling credit. I won $5.12 playing the penny slots with mine and Brian won .52 playing the 2 cent slots. I'm much better than him. Brian says I have gambling addiction. I don't but I wanted to keep signing up for stuff so they would give us more free stuff.

We saw The Phantom of the Opera, which was pretty cool.

I would buy a bunch of houses all over the world (not fancy ones, just normal ones), a new car for me and one for Brian, a sail boat and a jet boat (with all the fun stuff to go with it), houses and cars for all of my family members, I'd invest half of it, pay my tithing of course, I'd give a lot of it away. Other than that our life would be pretty much the same. **side note: in case you don't know, this is something that I have thought about a lot. I often have dreams that I some how get a billion dollars
